It can be used in both <strong>transit<\/strong>, as well as <strong>imports<\/strong>. In practice, this means that traders do not have to pay customs duties immediately - instead, their obligations are guaranteed by a third party, such as a bank or customs agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do I obtain a customs guarantee?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To take advantage of this facility, a customs agency - such as the <strong>Alfa Customs Agency<\/strong> - applies to the bank on behalf of its clients, where it obtains the relevant guarantee. It then submits an application to the <strong>customs and tax office<\/strong> for the approval of a guarantee for a certain amount.
