Place Recognised - i.e. how to get clearance without visiting UCS?

Place Recognised

Do you need to go to Customs to start or finish a transit? Or do you need export clearance quickly and are counting every hour?
If so Place Recognised may be your best logistical shortcut. But beware - not every magazine has this status.

Want to see what this looks like in practice?
In the latest episode „Target Tips” our expert Marcin Szreder of Alfa Customs Agency explains what exactly a Recognised Place is, when you can use it and what you need to know to avoid delays.

💡 What is a Recognised Site :

This is a special space in the warehouse, accepted by Customs, where you can declare goods for customs procedures - without physically coming to the UCS.
In practice:

  • you present the goods for import or export clearance
  • you open or close a transit procedure
  • you can store goods under customs supervision for a short period of time (up to 3 days or even up to 6 days if you have an AEO)

Why it pays off :

  • faster procedures - no queues at UCS
  • reduced operating costs
  • improved logistics planning
  • export clearance directly from the warehouse - from the end of october 2024 is the only option out of office
  • greater flexibility for freight forwarders and importers

Who is it for?

  • for importers who wish to reduce formalities
  • for exporters who value their time
  • for companies with AEO who can do even more
